An 85-year-old male driver may have suffered an apparent medical emergency before a collision with another vehicle Wednesday morning, Feb. 14, according to a Fontana Police news release.
The elderly Fontana driver of a Ford Escort was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead, according to the news release. A witness described the driver’s appearance before the collision to police.
The crash was reported at 10:19 a.m. at the corner of San Bernardino and Palmetto avenues. The driver of the other vehicle, a Chevrolet Equinox, suffered minor injuries.
A preliminary investigation indicates neither excessive speed nor intoxication were factors in the collision, police said. The city’s major accident investigation team is investigating the collision.
