Cal Fire/Riverside County firefighters were kept busy Thursday morning battling a series of house fires in Riverside County that heavily damaged two homes, officials said.

The first fire was reported just after 1 a.m. at a double-wide mobile home in the 25000 block of Clemente Street in Homeland.

Footage from the scene posted to social media showed flames shooting out of the home’s windows as firefighters attacked it from the outside. Crews contained the fire after about an hour, according to a fire department press release. The home suffered extensive damage.

The next fire erupted at a vacant home in the 53000 block of Calle Camacho in Coachella just after 3 a.m., fire officials said.

Firefighters reported the 1,200 square foot home was 75 percent involved when they arrived, the Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department statement said.

That fire was contained in about an hour as well.

Crews were alerted to the final fire around 4 a.m. following a report of a smell of smoke from an empty house in the 300 block of North Lowell Street in Lake Elsinore. Crews discovered the small electrical fire in the basement and quickly put it out, officials said.

The causes of the fires are under investigation.
