Firefighters battling 6-acre wildfire in Anza

Firefighters were battling a 6-acre wildfire in Anza on Wednesday, Aug. 30, fire officials say.
The fire, dubbed the Mine fire, was reported shortly before noon in the area of Indian and Deer Mountain roads, according to a Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department news release.
Initially, the fire was burning in heavy fuel at a moderate rate of spread, according to the release. By 1:15 p.m., the fire was holding at 6 acres.
Cal Fire was being aided by the U.S. Forest Service and Bureau of Land Management, officials said.
