Fire destroys motorhome parked in Riverside driveway
A motorhome was destroyed Friday when a fire ripped through it while it was parked in a Riverside home’s driveway, Riverside city Fire Department officials said.
“Firefighters were able to cool off the propane tank and contain the fire to the motorhome,” a statement said.
Firefighters were called to the home in the 4700 block of Beverly Court around 11:30 a.m. and found the large recreational vehicle enveloped by flames, officials said.
Crews aggressively attacked the fire, which was threatening two nearby homes, according to the statement.
Firefighters extinguished the fire with only minimal damage reported to the main home and a nearby vehicle, according to authorities. Officials estimate the losses at about $120,000. Investigators determined the cause of the fire was electrical.
