Fire causes $200,000 in damage to Nuevo home

A fire caused about $200,000 in damage to a house in the 31000 block of Park Boulevard in Nuevo Tuesday morning, Feb. 13, according to a Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire news release.

The fire was confined to the garage with minimal damage to the living space of the residence in the blaze reported at 7:21 a.m., according to the release. The fire was contained by 8:28 a.m.

Five adults and two children were displaced by the fire and declined assistance from the American Red Cross.

No one was injured. The cause of the fire was not reported.

The home is west of Hansen Avenue. The California Highway Patrol was asked to assist with traffic control in the neighborhood several blocks west of Valley View Elementary School.
