Fight at Hesperia-area house party ends with death of Victorville man, 19
A fight at a house party led to the shooting death of a 19-year-old man early Saturday morning in the Hesperia area, authorities said.
San Bernardino County sheriff’s officials received reports of a shooting in the 7700 block of Foley Road on the outskirts of Hesperia at 12:34 a.m. Saturday, according to a news release from the sheriffs.
When deputies arrived, they found Kyle McConnell, of Victorville, suffering from a gunshot wound. McConnell was transported to a hospital, where he died.
Sheriff’s homicide investigators responded to the scene and determined there had been an advertised party at the home, with more than 100 people attending.
“Shortly before midnight, there was an altercation involving several of the partygoers and the shooting occurred,” the release stated.
The suspect or suspects have not been identified and many of the partygoers – potential witnesses – fled as deputies arrived, the sheriff’s release said.
