Female pedestrian dies, male hurt in Moreno Valley hit-and-run

A woman pedestrian died and a male pedestrian was hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries after a hit-and-run collision Tuesday, May 16, in Moreno Valley.

The collision was reported at 6:49 p.m. at Kitching Street and Brodiaea Avenue, according to Riverside County sheriff’s Lt. Zach Hall.

“We think we have the suspect vehicle and two (people) detained,” Hall said. They were found some distance from the scene.

The victims were walking in a crosswalk. The female victim was pronounced dead at a hospital.

Deputies closed Kitching from Alessandro Boulevard to Windjammer Drive for the investigation. The intersection is west of Hendrick Ranch Elementary School.
