Fee waived for names to be added to Beaumont Public Safety Memorial

Thanks to a private donor, there will be no fee attached to adding a name to the Beaumont Public Safety Memorial, which sits outside the Civic Center.

The city began charging a $50 application fee last year to cover the cost of engraving on the granite panels, but no applications were received and no names were added.

The memorial recognizes police officers, firefighters and other public safety workers who lived in or served the Beaumont area during their career. The next ceremony will be Oct. 14.

Applications for names to be added must be received by Sept. 21. They are available online and at city facilities. A complete list of guidelines is available at
