Fatal crash in Perris leads to shutdown of 215 Freeway
A motorist was killed Friday morning after their Jeep rolled on the northbound 215 Freeway near the Ramona Expressway, tossing the driver onto the ground and leading to a shutdown of the freeway for more than an hour, according to California Highway Patrol reports.
The solo-vehicle rollover was reported just after 9:30 a.m., according to CHP incident information. Paramedics were called and were working on the person but the motorist was pronounced dead.
All lanes of the freeway were shut down as officers investigated the crash, but they reopened around 11 a.m., officials said.
The cause of the crash was not immediately available.
