Fans fly banners around Rose Bowl calling for Jim Mora’s job
PASADENA — As players slowly trickled out of the Rose Bowl tunnel for pregame warmups on Saturday, they were met with two planes flying over the field calling for their head coach’s job.
A fan-funded campaign advocating for the firing of UCLA head coach Jim Mora took flight Saturday before UCLA’s game against Arizona State, with one banner reading “UCLA FB: 16YRS 0 ROSE BOWL 0 CONF TITLES!” with another trailing behind with the message “GUERRERO 9-16 THE LAST 25 GAMES NO MORA!”

Mora won 29 games during his first three years on the job, the most for a coach in school history in that time span, but now has the Bruins in danger of missing back-to-back bowl games for the first time since 1989-90. Despite pulling in six straight recruiting classes ranked in the top 20 nationally, Mora and his coaching staff had the second-to-worst rushing offense in the country last year and are primed to set a school record in most rushing yards allowed this year.
