Family issues dispute leads to attempted murder of brother, deputies say

An argument over family issues escalated to the noon shooting of a Victorville man in the chest by his brother on Monday, June 17, according to a San Bernardino County Sheriff’s news release.
The victim, Victor Thomas, 21, of Victorville, was shot once in the chest, driven to a hospital by a family member and then transferred by an air medical unit to another hospital for treatment.
Jakarr Thomas, 20, of Victorville was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder about 1:05 p.m. at a residence in the 16600 block of Joshua Street in Victorville. Deputies found two handguns at the residence, including one identified as the weapon used in the shooting.
The suspect was booked at the High Desert Detention Center in Adelanto and held in lieu of posting $1 million bail, according to jail records.
