Erratic driving suspect leads Fontana police on chase before crashing

Fontana police officers pursued a vehicle that was described as being driven erratically for about three miles Sunday before the vehicle caused a multi-car collision, according to a police news release.
Suspect Jorge Ramirez, 24, of Rialto suffered moderate injuries and was taken to an area hospital, then arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol and evading officers, according to the news release.
The driver and passenger in one of the other vehicles were taken to a hospital with minor injuries.
Police attempted to stop a 2001 Audi sedan near Foothill Boulevard and Tamarind Avenue. The chase ended in a crash near Foothill Boulevard and Pepper Avenue, near the border between the cities of Rialto and San Bernardino.
