The Ducks assigned wingers Ondrej Kase and Kevin Roy to the San Diego Gulls of the American Hockey League. The move is to at least get the two back into game action as the Gulls host the Chicago Wolves on Wednesday.

Kase hasn’t played since New Year’s Eve against Arizona as flu-like symptoms kept him from dressing on their three-game trip before the bye week. He did skate with the team on Saturday morning in Calgary. He’s got nine goals and six assists in 27 games with the Ducks.

Roy had six goals and an assist in 25 games during his first stretch of play with the Ducks. Now that Corey Perry has returned from a knee injury, it is conceivable that the 24-year-old will remain with the Gulls in order to play a lot of minutes every night.

The Ducks resume play Saturday when they take on the Kings at Staples Center.
