Driver extricated from vehicle after crashing into Menifee pole

Firefighters are extricating a driver from a mangled vehicle after the person crashed the car into a pole in Menifee early Monday morning, according to a CAL FIRE/Riverside County Fire news release.

The crash was reported around 5:30 a.m. at Bundy Canyon and Wright roads, the statement said. It wasn’t immediately clear what led to the solo-vehicle crash.

Rescuers expect to remain at the location until around 8 a.m. as they continue to try to pull the driver from the wreckage, said the statement released just before 7 a.m.
