Dog rescued after being tied to a pole, abandoned in Mt. Baldy
By Staff report
A dog is receiving medical care after being tied to a pole and abandoned on the side of a road in Mt. Baldy.
A call about the dog came in about 2:30 p.m. New Years Eve to the Inland Valley Humane Society & Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, officials there said in a news release. A Humane Society officer responded and rescued the dog, which was described as a 4-year-old male pit bull.
The dog, named Chance by Humane Society staff, suffered injuries consistent with neglect, the release stated. It’s not known who tied the dog to the pole nor how long he was there.
Chance was taken for emergency care and then transferred to the Humane Society, where he is undergoing medical care and will remain pending an investigation.
Anyone with information about Chance is asked to call IVHS investigators at 909-623-9777.
