D23 Expo 2017: Here’s how Disney fans reacted to new ride, attraction announcements

Disney announced some major news on rides and attractions at the Parks and Resorts panel on day two of the D23 Expo. The expo, a celebration for fans of all things Disney, runs from Friday, July 14 to Sunday, July 15 at the Anaheim Convention Center.

First up was the announcement of “Galaxy’s Edge,” a special “Star Wars”-themed area in Disneyland that has been under construction since 2016. It’s expected to open in 2019.

Another huge announcement was Pixar Pier, which will replace paradise pier at Disney California Adventure.
