Crews responding to vegetation fire in Colton

A vegetation fire broke out Saturday afternoon in the hills near La Cadena Drive in Colton.

As of 2 p.m., crews were on scene working to stop the blaze from spreading to any structures in the area, including a nearby mobile home park.

Motorists on northbound 215 reported seeing smoke rise around 12:30 p.m. An hour later the CHP dispatch log noted “mountain on fire.”

It has been dubbed the #LaCadenaFire by the San Bernardino County Fire Department.
