Most of more than 1,500 Southern California Edison customers have had power restored in Wildomar after an outage blamed on a traffic collision led to equipment damage on Monday, Aug. 28, according to the Edison website.
The outage was reported at 3:27 p.m. on a muggy day with blistering heat that also brought up to an inch of rain to an area from Lake Elsinore to Lake Mathews.
By 6 pm., the number of affected customers was down to 190, with work in progress.
Edison estimated the power would be restored by 10 p.m.
Smaller cells of precipitation also moved over the Temecula-Murrieta area, according to the National Weather Service website.
