Counselors who keep people out of foreclosure receive national honors
A nonprofit that helps homeowners balance their finances and avoid foreclosure has honored two Inland staff members.
Moreno Valley resident Jannet Nevarez was chosen as the Homeownership Preservation Foundation’s 2017 counselor of the year out of more than 400 counselors nationwide, according to a news release.
Claudio Espino was chosen as the National Foundation for Credit Counseling’s 2017 counselor of the year.
Both are with Credit.org in Riverside, part of HPF’s network of agencies.
Todd Emerson, Credit.org’s chief executive officer, said Nevarez shows genuine concern for the stressful situations her clients’ experience and in a video described Espino has having a servant’s heart.
