An Anaheim man who law enforcement officials say was thrown out of a bar Thursday afternoon walked into the path of a pick-up truck towing a travel trainer along Highway 62 in Joshua Tree, officials said Friday.

Christopher Moline, 55, was walking along Highway 62 making obscene gestures at passing vehicles around 4 p.m. after he was asked to leave the Joshua Tree Saloon on Highway 62 near Park Boulevard, according to a California Highway Patrol statement.

At the same time, a 75-year-old man was towing his travel trailer east along the highway when as he passed, authorities say Moline walked into the travel trailer and was thrown to the ground.

The driver of the truck was not aware he had hit Moline and kept driving until a witness flagged the man down, officials said. The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with CHP officers.

Paramedics took Moline to Desert Regional Medical Center with moderate injuries.

The crash is still under investigation.
