Canyon Fire 2 on Day 2: Blaze consumes 6,000 acres, winds a factor

Winds will continue to be a factor today for firefighters from across several counties who are battling the Canyon Fire 2 on its second day.

“We will be watching for any increased fire activity in east Anaheim in the morning with a shift in winds,” read a statement on the Anaheim city’s website posted at midnight. “Firefighting aircraft continue flying overnight.”

The National Weather Service issued a Red Flag Warning through this morning for far Inland Orange County with northeast winds expected to reach 15 to 25 mph and gusts to be around 35 mph.
