The Calimesa City Council decided to keep its leadership intact, selecting Mayor Jeff Hewitt and Mayor Pro Tem Bill Davis to continue in those posts for another year.

The positions are mostly ceremonial. The mayor leads meetings, selects on which regional committees council members will serve and represents the city at community and other events.

Hewitt, who is running for a seat on the Riverside County Board of Supervisors, is heading into the last year of his current term. Councilman Jim Hyatt also is completing his term.

Davis was reelected in 2016 and will serve until 2020.
