The Lake Elsinore Storm defeated the Stockton Ports, 9-2, in a California League game at The Diamond on Thursday night.
The Storm’s Edwin Moreno led the team with two RBI and three runs scored.
Moreno homered on a fly ball in the bottom of the first inning to give Lake Elsinore the first run of the night.
Kyle Overstreet scored a run in the second and one in the sixth to give the Storm the early advantage.
Pitcher Jesse Scholtens gave up two runs on five hits in nine innings, with seven strikeouts to improve to 3-1 on the season.
Michael Gettys went 2 for 5 and finished with two runs scored.

Rancho Cucamonga 4, Lancaster 1:
Rancho Cucamonga defeated the Lancaster JetHawks in a California League game at LoanMart Field after four Quakes combined for four RBI .
Luke Raley led the team with an RBI and two runs scored.
Omar Estevez, Will Smith and Victor Roache followed with an RBI each.
Raley homered and doubled for Rancho Cucamonga.
Roache hit a solo home run in the seventh to put the Quakes in front.
In the eighth inning, Raley hit a solo home run and Smith hit an RBI double to secure the win.

Modesto 12, Inland Empire 6:
The Inland Empire 66ers’ fell to the Modesto Nuts at San Manuel Stadium despite combining for five runs in fifth and sixth innings.
After leading 9-6, the Nuts scored three runs in the top of the ninth to secure the victory.
Jordan Serna and Troy Montgomery each had two RBI and a run scored to lead the team.
Serena also went 2 for 4.
Matt Thaiss went 2 for 4 and had one RBI meanwhile Cody Ramer had one RBI and a run scored.
Pitcher Austin Robichaux (1-3) took home the loss after striking out one and allowing nine hits with eight runs in 4.1 innings.
