Kyle Overstreet hit a three-run double in the bottom of the eighth, leading Lake Elsinore to a 3-0 win over the Stockton Ports at The Diamond on Friday.

Trevor Frank (2-1) earned the win as he tossed two innings, struck out one and allowed one hit. Eric Lauer pitched the first five innings as he struck out six and allowed six hits. It was the sixth shutout of the year for the Storm (34-34).

Peter Van Gansen and Overstreet each went 2 for 4.

Lancaster 7, Rancho Cucamonga 2 >> Rancho Cucamonga (35-33) took a 2-1 lead in the first with Yusniel Diaz’s RBI-double and Peter Lambert’s wild pitch that allowed him to score.

Lancaster took back the lead with two runs in the third and sealed the win with three in the seventh and one in the eighth.

Yadier Alvarez (1-4) took the loss with five strikeouts in five innings. He also allowed five hits and five runs.

Parker Curry struck out three and allowed two hits and one run in the final two innings.

Modesto 7, Inland Empire 6>> Matt Thaiss hit a two-run home run the bottom of the fourth to give the Inland Empire 66ers a 2-1 lead.

In the fifth, Troy Montgomery and Kyle Survance Jr. each supplied a RBI-single while Cody Ramer scored on a throwing error for a 5-1 lead. Modesto rallied for six runs to take the win.

Garrett Nuss (2-2) struck out three in 2 1/3 innings. The 66ers are 30-38.
