Keibert Ruiz doubled and hit a two-run homer in the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes’ 7-2 win over the San Jose Giants at LoanMart Field.

Ruiz’s homered to right field in the sixth after a Johan Mieses single. Drew Jackson added two RBI the same inning

Trailing 1-0 in the second, Zach McKinstry hit a two-run single to take the lead.

With two outs in the fifth, Luke Raley singled on a ground ball to left field bringing in McKinstry from third.

Devin Smeltzer (3-3) took the win as he pitched seven innings, allowed nine hits and a run, and struck out eight.

The Quakes are 49-43, 13-9 in the California League Southern Division.

Lake Elsinore’s first at-bat Rod Boykin hit a home run on a fly ball to right field for a 1-0 lead.

Austin Allen and Ruddy Giron each supplied a RBI in the fourth to extend the lead, followed by Carlos Belen’s two-run double the same inning for a comfy 5-0 lead.

Following Belen’s second RBI in the sixth, Allen hit a three-run homer in the seventh to secure the win.

Lake Elsinore is 45-47 on the season.

66ers 4, Ports 3>>

The Inland Empire 66ers trailed 3-0 until they rallied for four runs in the sixth inning to take home the win from Banner Island Ballpark.

Jordan Serena supplied two RBI while Jose Rojas and Michael Barash each had one.

Austin Robichaux (W, 3-6) tossed five innings, allowed seven hits and three runs, and struck out five.
