Brush fire burns 10 acres near Beaumont

Firefighters made quick work of a brush fire that burned 10 acres Sunday afternoon, June 18, on the southern edge of Beaumont.

The fire was reported at 12:28 p.m. Sunday, June 18, near the intersection of Manzanita Park Road and Roadrunner Drive, according to a Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department news release. The Country Hills RV Park is nearby.

By 1:26 p.m., the fire was contained, fire officials said. Firefighters were expected to remain at the scene for about two hours to finish mopping up.

Fighting the fire from the ground and air were 85 firefighters, eight engine companies, a helicopter, an air tanker, two bulldozers and other equipment.

The cause was under investigation.
