Brush fire burning 25 acres in Anaheim Hills

ANAHEIM HILLS A wind driven brush fire burned about 25 acres and was rapidly expanding Monday morning, Oct. 9, authorities said.

The blaze was reported around 9:40 a.m. off the 91 Freeway near the Gypsum Canyon Road exit, said Orange County Fire Authority Capt. Larry Kurtz.

The fire appeared to be moving toward Anaheim Hills, he added. Information was not immediately available regarding whether any structures are threatened.

Two OCFA strike teams and two helicopters are battling the blaze, Kurtz said. The fire is west of the location of the Canyon Fire that burned more than 2,600 acres earlier this month.
