Authorities investigating discovery of man’s body in Fontana as homicide

A man was found dead in the Fontana area on Tuesday, Sept. 12, and authorities were investigating the death as a homicide, sheriff’s officials said.

About 6 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 12, Fontana officers went to Summit and Cypress avenues to investigate the discovery of a body, according to a San Bernardino County sheriff’s news release.

The next day, the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department’s Homicide Division took over the investigation from the Fontana Police Department.

The release was sparse on details and noted that no other information would be released for the time being.
