Armed man robs San Bernardino’s Amapola Rico Taco

San Bernardino police detectives are searching for an armed man caught on surveillance footage holding up a Mexican food restaurant over the weekend.

The man, who in photos appears to be black, in his early 20s, with a thin build and wearing a black hooded sweatshirt brandished a handgun at cashiers at the Amapola Rico Taco, 2390 Del Rosa Ave., Saturday around 6:30 p.m., according to a Facebook post on the Amapola Rico Taco’s page. Police confirmed the robbery did take place and that detectives were trying to find the man in the surveillance footage.

The man didn’t hurt anyone in the restaurant, according to officials, but several of the employees were frightened by the armed robbery.

The photos released by the restaurant to social media appears to show the man looking into the surveillance camera.

Police ask anyone who may have information on the robbery to call the San Bernardino Police Department at 909-384-5742.
