Animal welfare investigators search for owner of sick horse found tied to pole in Chino
Animal welfare investigators are looking for the owner of a sick and emaciated horse that was found tied to a Chino telephone pole Thursday night.
Officers with the Inland Valley Humane Society in Pomona were called to Hellman Avenue around 10 p.m. for reports of a very thin and sickly looking horse tied to a pole. A more specific location for where the 15-year-old gelding was left was not immediately available.

Officers noticed the horse was left with no food or water, Humane Society officials said in a statement. It wasn’t clear how long the horse had been tied up.
The horse was taken for treatment and the Inland Valley Humane Society and officials with the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals discovered the horse was sick and suffering from open sores and lameness in his hind legs, officials said.
Authorities ask anyone with information regarding the horse or its owner to call the Inland Valley Humane Society’s investigative department at 909-623-9777.
