A happy ending after Moreno Valley 3-year-old’s Christmas Day heart surgery – and highs and lows since then

The winter holidays of Christmas and New Year’s are usually joyful times spent with loved ones, but for one Moreno Valley family, those days have brought a rollercoaster of emotions.

After their son, Ezra Cadena, 3, was hospitalized on Christmas Day with a heart emergency and then the family of eight had their holiday gifts stolen on New Year’s Day, Lisa and Michael Cadena said their family had been through a lot. And for the second time, a Riverside police officer came to the family’s aid.
