53-year-old Rancho Cucamonga man pleads not guilty to lewd acts with a minor
A 53-year man who was arrested last week on suspicion of lewd acts with a child pleaded not guilty to those charges during an arraignment Tuesday, San Bernardino County Superior Court documents showed.
Kenneth James Pretell, of Rancho Cucamonga, faces two counts of lewd and lascivious acts with a child under 14 years of old. He is currently housed at West Valley Detention Center in Rancho Cucamonga. Bail is set at $1 million, according to jail records.

He is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on Sept. 11 in Rancho Cucamonga.
Pretell is accused of sexually abusing a 10-year-old child of a family friend, according to a San Bernardino County sheriff’s news release. The alleged acts took place in Rancho Cucamonga and Lake Havasu, Arizona.
He was arrested Thursday, Aug. 24, at his residence on Appaloosa Court, the release said.
Pretell had previously been accused of lewd acts with a child. Court documents show he was acquitted of charges in 2009 and had charges dismissed in 2010, according to court records. Both cases were in Victorville.
