The owner of 27 Chihuahuas and three cats turned them over to the Ramona Humane Society on Wednesday, Dec. 20, and the pets are available for adoption.

“Despite living in deplorable conditions, the small dogs seem healthy and well socialized,” said a post on the Humane Society’s Facebook page. “All pets will be spayed /neutered before going to their new homes.”

The Humane Society is at 690 Humane Way, San Jacinto. Its phone number is 951-654-8002.

The Humane Society is also soliciting donations to help care for its animals.
