2 seriously injured in crash that shuts down Promenade Avenue between Corona and Riverside

Two people were seriously injured in a single-vehicle crash Wednesday, Nov. 8, that prompted the closure of a road that connects Corona with Riverside.
A car struck a light pole about 1:20 p.m. on Promenade Avenue, Corona police Detective Andy Bryant said.
The Police Department sent out a Twitter message about 3 p.m. that said Promenade was closed from Buchanan Street to La Vista Avenue. Collision investigators responded and closed the road because of the seriousness of the injuries and the need to examine road conditions, Bryant said.
The road connects McKinley Street, site of the Corona Hills Plaza, with the Riverwalk neighborhood in Riverside. Some motorists use Promenade to bypass the 91 Freeway.
About the same time and a mile and a half west of the crash scene, Corona police investigated a possible domestic-violence incident in a driveway in the 600 block of Avondale Drive, off of Promenade.
Bryant said by the time police had arrived, the people involved in the incident had fled but left behind a stolen car.
