2 men killed in apparent murder-suicide, Fontana police say

Two men are dead following what police believe to be a murder-suicide in Fontana early Friday morning.

Officers found the two men with apparent gunshot wounds at about 6:30 a.m. in the 11200 block of Poplar Avenue, according to a Fontana Police Department news release.

Sgt. Kevin Goltara said a man shot the victim then himself. The victim was taken to the hospital where he died and the other man was pronounced dead at the scene, officials said.

“This appears to have been sparked over a fight over a woman,” Goltara said.

The shooting took place in the parking lot of a logistical center in the industrial area, though it was not immediately clear if either of the men worked at the business.
