2 at Temecula restaurant treated after unknown substance prompts hazmat response
TEMECULA — Two people were taken to hospitals Friday night with minor injuries after becoming ill at a Temecula restaurant, prompting a hazmat team response.
Firefighters responded at 8:39 p.m. to the restaurant in the 41000 block of Margarita Road, according to Tawny Cabral of the Riverside County Fire Department.
The first arriving firefighters reported an unknown substance possibly causing victims to feel ill and requested the assistance of the Riverside County Fire Department Hazardous Materials Team, Cabral said.
Paramedics evaluated and transported two victims to area hospitals by ground ambulance with minor injuries, she said.
The cause was undetermined and the incident was turned over to the Riverside County Environmental Health agency, Cabral said.
