12-acre brushfire burning off Highway 243 in Idyllwild
U.S. Forest Service fire personnel are keeping a small brush fire in check after it ignited near Idyllwild on Tuesday night, officials said.
The fire was reported just before 9:30 p.m. off Highway 243 and Black Mountain Road, according to Gerrelaine Alcordo, deputy public affairs officer.
As of Wednesday morning, the fire was 60 percent contained and holding at 12 acres, she said.
She did not indicate any structures were threatened by the fire. The cause is under investigation.
