A resident was injured and two dogs were killed in a fire that broke out at a home in Cabazon today.

The fire broke out at 3:36 a.m. at a single wide modular home in the 14000 block of Almond Street, according to Tawny Cabral of the Riverside County Fire Department.

Fire crews from the county and the Morongo Fire Department found the home “50 percent involved in fire,” Cabral said, and contained the flames by 4:04 a.m.

Two small dogs died in the fire, she said, while one person at the scene suffered minor injuries but refused to be taken to a hospital. The victim was evaluated on scene by fire department paramedics.
